Default Wakeboarding Vs Skimboarding

ive done both, both behind a boat. i prefer the skimboarding. but then again im not good at wakeboarding. i also always wondered in the skim videos how they got such a large wake, my friend said they sat on one side on the boat in the back?

I was just recently at Lake George New York wakeboarding and skimming. Haha, I mean wake skimming. Wakeboarding up there was awesome if you could find a little clove that was sheltered by the wind so the water was glassy. I was able to get up on my skimboard out as far as I was wakeboarding and pull myself in with the rope so that I could skim on the wake. What sucked was that there was only me and the drive on the boat so I couldn't really let go of the rope and ride the wake. But the next day I went out and got about 5 other people to go out with the driver and I. I had them sit on the back of the boat and I was able to let go of the rope and skim the wake. But yea if I was to wakeboard or skim behind a boat I would probably wakeboard. But if I didn't have to pull myself in with the rope when I was on the skimboard and I was right there near the wake I would probably do that. In all I just like getting air and the best way to do that behind a boat is to wakeboard.

Where in the US are you? Are you looking for places to get your boaters license or just to go out and wakeboard?

You can get your boaters license online and have it mailed to you.

As for wakeboarding areas, you can go wakeboarding where ever there is a boat launch for public use. If you don't have a boat you can look for places online where they have cable parks. Here is a link: http://cablewakeboard.com/ go to Cables in the bar menu at the top and go to Pan America It will show you most of the cable parks in the US and some in canada.
